The story of the Vieux Ligat:
A native of Bourg sur Gironde, Serge Seguin is the owner of château Vieux Ligat. The name come from a place called “Ligat” where he lives. Founded in the 1930s, his grandparents started with 3-4 hectares of vineyards they brought to the cave of Bourg in 1940s.Serge took over the family property in 1988. Former employee in the construction industry, this independent and passionate man, chose to convert back to 1985 by vocation. He holds a wine CAP / arboculture and a BAA (agricultural learning diploma),

75% Merlot, 25% Malbec

Vinification
Traditional, cold maceration, control of the temperatures, 3 weeks of fermentation. Ageing in stainless tanks.

Production: 42 600 bottles

Alcohol : % vol

Tasting Notes
Limpid garnet. Pleasant nose of black cherry and mild spices with a whiff of truffle. Harmonious palate centering on a full, succulent and fresh mouthfeel supported by fine tannins. Vegetal and spicy finish. A successful wine.

Food pairing: Most of the meats and cheese.
